I started taking pictures as a young child-mostly pictures of the family dog. Photography didn’t become a serious hobby until I attended the University of Montana where I studied print journalism. The department required everyone to take a photography class. Upon developing my first photo in the darkroom, I realized what I wanted to do. I took some photography classes in the art department and developed a cross-style between photo-journalism and fine art.

After college I moved to Chicago and worked a couple of years as a photographer’s assistant. I put in a couple of seasons with a high-end wedding photographer and also worked for commercial photographers and an architectural photographer. After Chicago I moved back to Missoula to tap into the wonderful and tight-knit artistic community I had remembered from back in college. Now I’m ready to take your picture.
